Early Childhood Center 

  Adat Shalom’s Early Childhood Center (ECC) provides a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children 2 – 6 years old.  We will support your child’s physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.  Our program encourages learning through the exploration of a variety of modalities including art, music, movement, and creative drama.  Our ECC has served families in the West Los Angeles area for over 30 years providing social and educational preparation for elementary schools with an emphasis on Jewish values and traditions.  Weekly celebration of Shabbat and Holidays, learning bible stories and the Hebrew language are essential components of the curriculum. 

Our intimately scaled school and close relationships between families and ECC teachers encourages the growth of your child’s imagination in an environment designed for children to explore experiment, discover and become a self-motivated independent learner who can solve problems.  Children learn together in an atmosphere that respects their dignity and recognizes their creative talents. Our facilities include traditional classrooms, an art room, outdoor play areas and gardens.  Classes are welcomed into our sanctuary and other facilities.  We offer hot lunch programs, enrichment classes and extended care.

All families in our ECC are also full members of the Adat Shalom congregation. Benefits of membership include High Holiday seats, Tot Shabbat programs, holiday celebrations, learning opportunities, rabbinic counseling, social action and so much more.  We encourage you to become involved in our Parent Association.

The Adat Shalom staff work with each of our families and creates a cooperative home-school relationship.  This partnership ultimately benefits everyone involved – the child, the family, the school and the community.
