Adat Shalom Men's Club Prepares for Sukkoth
As are most of the activities at Adat Shalom, construction of the sukkah is a personal undertaking of the congregation.  They'll have no part of pre-fabricated panels (see http://www.wondersukkah.com) or bringing in a licensed contractor (http://www.sukkahbuilders.com).  Instead it  is a home brew operation woth all participants praying that no one will fall off a ladder.
The process starts with planning.  Lew Sternfields, with his ever-present personal information management tool,  is shown here keeping track of what is going on.

On the right, Steve Schneider, secures the panels to the bottom of the tubing frame.

Meanwhile (below) Craig Singer secures the panels to the top of the tubing frame, while Harvey Sternheim does what he does best, - verifies all is well

Traditionally the sukkah is a temporary structure, but it must be strong enough to withstand California winds.

Saul Bubis works to make sure supporting members are evenly spaced.

While Bernie Bronstein debates the placement of roofing material (below left),
Steven Foremaker .(below right) takes matters into his own hands.

Craig Singer (above) fits the roof in place with the help of  Richard Destin & Jamie Knoll.

Finally, when all is done, Doug Brill gets to ponder the structure as he waits for son to be done with religious school..
