Cantor Tisser has been a part of the Jewish music community of Los
Angeles since he began his studies of the art of Chazzanut with Cantor
Herschel Fox of Valley Beth Shalom at age seven; by age 15 he was their
organist. Cantor Tisser has since served as organist at many other Los
Angeles synagogues, as well as Judaic music teacher at Sinai-Akiba
Academy and the A.J. Heschel Day School

In addition to leading services, Cantor Tisser will be teaching in the
Religious School and Adult Education programs, preparing students for
Bar and Bat Mitzvah, starting a young person's Cantor's Choir to
perpetuate the beautiful tradition of Chazzanut, and launching a once
per month musical Friday night service. He is very excited to be
joining the Adat Shalom community and hopes soon to have the opportunity
to meet all its members.
Cantor Benjamin Tisser
Chaim Sabbah, Torah Reader:
Chaim Sabbah’s extensive knowledge of Torah, Jewish customs and history derives from over half a century of regular daily active participation in Jewish religious services. Since 1986, he has been Adat Shalom’s regular Shabbat Torah reader, the person who conducts the early morning services during the High Holy Days and other Jewish holidays as well as the cantor’s backup.
