Rachel and her husband, Harvey, joined Adat Shalom in 2000. Their two daughters are both graduates of the Early Childhood Center and are students in the religious school. Adat Shalom has become their second home. Rachel’s service on the board has centered on education. She is a former vice-president of education who is now a member-at-large with a portfolio that includes serving as the co-chair of the education committee.
A career educator, Rachel taught in the public schools for many years before concentrating on Jewish education. She holds a BS and MA in education and a BA in Hebrew Letters from the Zeigler School at the American Jewish University. She is currently working as the Judaic Studies Coordinator at Temple Emanuel Academy Day School.
