7:00 PM - 9:30 PMAdat Shalom

Unorthodox Podcast Kabbalat Shabbat.

Unorthodox is the world's leading Jewish podcast! Hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, Stephanie Butnick, and Liel Leibovitz of Tablet Magazine, this special live recording will feature Lauren Miller Rogen, who wrote and directed the 2018 film Like Father, and whose Hilarity for Charity variety shows raise money for Alzheimer's awareness and research (the 2018 show is now streaming on Netflix). She's also appeared in Superbad, Master of None, Sausage Party, and more.

We'll also be joined by Iranian-Jewish philanthropist Rachel Sumekh, who was named to Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2017 for founding Swipe Out Hunger, and organization that works with colleges to end campus hunger by enabling students to donate extra dining points to peers in need.

The gentile of the week is Black-ish writer and producer Jonathan Groff, who has also worked on Scrubs, How I Met your Mother, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where he was the head writer for more than 400 episodes.

Join us for Kabbalat Shabbat Services led by Rabbi Lebovitz and Cantor Schatz at 7:00pm followed by the live recording at 8:00pm and an oneg afterward. There will also be News of the Jews, fun trivia and giveaways!

All who wish to attend the podcast must pay in advance (for a wristband) in order to enter the synagogue that evening. We will not be taking money at the door. Due to security considerations, no one will be permitted to enter the synagogue at any time without a wristband. Tickets are $36 each and must be purchased in advance.  We are expecting this event to sell out, so do not delay if you would like to be part of this one-of-a kind event.  We look forward to seeing you at Adat Shalom on February 1st!

Sorry, Registration has ended.
